THE CHARM OF USVI

Dis you know that USVI is the only U.S. territory with coastlines on both the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean?

Let's get to know some curiosities about three of its more than 100 islands.

TRUNK BAY, ST. JOHN

Trunk Bay is one of the protected areas of the Virgin Islands National Park, and is one of the most beautiful beaches on St. John Island. On this beach you can relax on the sand, take a swim in paradise and go on water excursions on its underwater trail, which is the main attraction for scuba diving enthusiasts.

The path is 205 meters long and starts a few meters from the beach. Along the way you will be able to admire the magnificent coral where many species of tropical fish live. The route has signs that will help you identify the different types of fish and corals.

COKI POINT, ST. THOMAS

Coki Point, Coki Point Beach, Coki Beach and sometimes just Coki has a crystal-blue water that is usually very calm and deepens gradually. It’s lovely for swimming. A near shore rocky area offers good snorkeling for novices. The big draw of snorkeling at Coki Point is friendly fish. Over the years, tourists have been encouraged to buy dog biscuits to hand feed the fish. The fish are therefore not shy and approach swimmers looking for a handout.

BUCK ISLAND REEF, ST. CROIX

One of the most interesting things is its rich combination of ancestral cultures, the Spanish, French, British, American, Dutch, Danish and Maltese have combined their customs in this small territory to make it what it is today, an interesting population.

Buck Island Reef National Monument is the nation's first underwater monument and one of three underwater national monuments in the United States. It is possible to explore the underwater trail with snorkel or tank and discover a wide variety of marine life, from protected coral reefs to flora and fauna, hawksbill turtles and brown pelicans.
